Major League Baseball All-Star Games are popular baseball games played allover the world. The games are played between teams from the National league and the American League that are the two acting organization below the Major League Baseball. The Major League Baseball All-Star Games is also known as the Midsummer Classic. These games are a sort of exhibition games that are played between the players of the American and the National League. The players and the teams are selected on the basis of the votes that are achieved by the players and by the manager for the pitchers. The season of this exciting game starts from early to mid-July and marks the symbolic halfway point in the Major League Baseball season. The All-star games began as a part of the 1933 Worlds Fair in Chicago, was the brainchild of Arch Ward, who was then sports editor for The Chicago Tribune. The games were a great success and that initiated in game to become an annual game. The venue of the game is generally selected by the MLB and usually interchanged by the two leagues every year. In 1951 the Detroit Tigers were chosen to host the annual game and hence this tradition was at first busted. The same thing is again expected in the 2007 year, when the San Francisco Giants will be acting as the host for the 2007 All-Star Game. The 2006 season will be hosting in the Pittsburgh Pirates.
