The National League won their second All Star Game by the score of 8-3 held at Briggs Stadium in Detroit . For the first three innings both American League as well as National League tied at 1-1. This game proved the momentum of the National League, which defeated the American League at the annual All Star League. Ralph Kiner as a Pittsburg slugger homered for the third year in a row. By hitting four home runs the National League registered an All Star record. The National League's pace was established by Stan Musial. He homered against Eddie Lopat. Gil Hodges singled and Bob Elliott led the National League, homered to left for a 4-1. With a courageous effort the American League lead to 4-3, but in the sixth inning Gil Hodges answered with a two run homer and made it to 6-3. In the seventh inning the National League scored yet another run. By hitting a two run homer in the eighth Ralph Kiner gave the final blow. This game showed that the confidence of the National League's was increased after winning for the two consecutive years.
