1952 ALL STAR GAME
 
 

The 19th annual All Star game was held at Shibe Park in Philadelphia . The National League won the game by the score of 3-2. Due to rain this exhibition lasted for five innings and it was the third consecutive year of the National League to won the game. The numbers of fans assembled were about 32,785. The American League was leading with the score of 2-1. The National League by regaining its momentum returned in the fourth. With a two-run homer Hank Sauer of the Chicago Cubs gave the victory margin for the National League team. A spectacular display in the fifth was given by Bobby Shantz struck out Whitey Lockman, Jackie Robinson and Stan Musial. Lemon's first pitch was driven by Hank Sauer onto the left-field roof. By this game the American League was upset because the fans were expecting some good show from them but the National League steal the whole show. The National League made another success for them.
