1953 ALL STAR GAME

The game held at Crosley field Cincinnati was the fourth straight victory of the National League in the 20th annual All Star Game. They defeated the American league with a score of 5-1. Around 30,846 crowds gathered to watch the battle. Three one-hit innings were delivered by Roberts of the National League and Billy Pierce of the American League. The American League was stressed as the National League had won the All Star Game for the three consecutive years.

At All-Star scales the American League was well thought-out an "underdog." In the All Star history this game was considered the greatest defensive plays. Casey Stenge manager of American League was responsible for the World Series victories in the year 1949, 1950, 1951, and 1952, he could not believed of losing in the All Star game in 1950, 1951 and 1952. The American League made many efforts but it was unnoticed and the National League sustained their winning-streak for the fourth year in a row.
