After four years of defeat the American League in 1954 won the All Star game played at Municipal stadium in Cleveland . This was the most exciting game in which the American League made the highest scores, won the game by 11-9. With six home runs this game was attended by 68,751 spectators. To achieve their first victory in All Star Game played in five years, Al Rosen of Cleveland, Ray Boone of Detroit , and Larry Doby of Cleveland made four of the home runs. Ted Kluszewski and Gus Bell both homered for the National league. Nelson Fox of the Chicago White Sox brought the American League on winning margin by making two-run single handedly. A rookie Dean Stone of Washington was the winning pitcher. The National League was leading by 9-8 in the eighth inning they thought they were close to another victory. Six pitchers were used by the National League. But the American League was adamant this time to win the game. After eight losses the Americans declared their 13th All Star victory by this game.
