All-Stars took a trip to the nation's capital to celebrate the America 's favorite pastime. The National League won the game played in Washington , 3-1. The second president Kennedy attended the occasion. In this game some of the most precious players were selected like Maury Wills and Leon Wagner. Maury Wills (Los Angeles Dodgers) performance was the main reason which made this game worth watching. Wills scored the first run against Dick Groat single and attained base by a single in the eighth inning. To pinch-run for Stan Musial, Maury Wills entered the lineup in the sixth. A single hit by Jim Davenport to left field was rounded by him. With a blazing speed Wills took the third after the throw which came to the cutoff man. The day belonged to the National League and the victory went into the court of the National League. After this All Star game Maury Wills was adjudged the most valuable player.
