The New York Yankees are a Major League Baseball team, who are member of Eastern Division of the American League. New York is the home to the Yankees. The Yankees are one of the oldest franchises who are playing for last 100 years in the history of Major League along with Boston Celtics and Dallas Cowboys.  They are one of two major league franchises which operate in New York City, the other being the New York Mets of the National League. Team was known by different names; Baltimore Orioles (1901-1902), New York Highlanders (1903-1912) andNew York Yankees (1913-present)
New York Yankees are the most successful team, they rank number one in major league. Yankees have recorded 26  wins in world series championships in 39 appearances.  The team was a hub of  legendary players, it is difficult to pick one who illustrates the team, Mantle was awesome, Gehrig was quiet but terrific and not to forget Ruth who was even bigger than the Yankees.
