The Oakland Athletics are a Major League Baseball team who are currently member of Western Division of the American League. Oakland city in California State is home to Athletics. The athletics are also referred as the A’s. The team was upgraded as major league team in 1901 after moving to Philadelphia. In 1968, prior to Oakland team was located in Kansas. Oakland Athletics are among one of the top teams of the Major League, it has a winning record of 13 division titles (1971-1975, 1981*, 1988-1990, 1992, 2000, 2002-2003), 15 Pennants (1902, 1905, 1910-1911, 1913-1914, 1929-1931, 1972-1974, 1988-1990) and Nine World Championships (1910-1911, 1913, 1929-1930, 1972-1974, 1989). In 2005 team had middling performance as significant team players were plagued with injuries. Though athletics didn’t show any remarkable performance but for 2006 season team has all their spirits high and players are back in their forms to beat the championship. Team has promising players who have gone through fine training seasons.
