The rays received their first spring training in their home city; St. Petersburg. The team faced failures in the beginning years of its existence, whereas the fellow expansion team Arizona diamondbacks of national league didn’t face this tough phase. Till date team hasn’t made any post- season appearances and hasn’t any world championships, pennants and division titles. The rays are still struggling for a winning season.
